Our Hunter Douglas Alustra Luminette product line offered exactly what this client needed. With a striking color scheme of predominant grays and blacks, the home design was very nicely complemented by this beautiful window shade. Its sleek elegance and sheen accented the stackable French doors into the daughter’s bedroom, exactly what the client was looking for. From a functional perspective, the client wanted to be able to adjust the lighting, having privacy at night and in the mornings, but opening up the room to the rest of the house during the daytime. The Manual option allowed her to torque the room darkening as she needed to. Our automated PowerGlide lifting system is also available for this product and can be implemented with any home automation system. Many coordinating products are available for the Alustra Luminette shade. This client chose the Silhouette Light Dimming in the Silver Sheen (not shown) to complement the larger windows of the room.

According the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, more than 200 infants and young children have died due to accidental strangulation in window covering cords since 1990.

Qualifying products are eligible for a tax credit of 30 percent of the cost, up to $1,500 total during the 2009 and 2010 tax years. Any customer who purchases or has purchased these products between Jan. 1, 2009 and Dec. 31, 2010, can work with their tax advisor to claim the credit.
